WHY WE EXIST
Stigmas, misconceptions, and lack of access to resources and safe spaces, especially at home
and in schools, lead our precious LGBTQIA+ youth to take matters into their own hands. Despite many recent policy improvements and increased visibility, we simply still aren’t doing enough.
Research has shown that even just one supportive adult can result in a significant
reduction of the likelihood of a suicide attempt in LGBTQIA+ youth.Access to school-based clubs and activities, especially LGBTQIA+ centric or affirming spaces, helps to reduce suicide risk.
LGBTQIA+ students with trusted adults at school consistently show higher levels of self esteem.
